NEW BUSINESS

Boys volleyball will be a part of the CVC for this spring with four (4) CVC schools and two (2) from the Tri County Conference. The schedule was approved. A search for coordinator will continue.

Schedule Modifications were necessary in baseball and softball because the preliminary dates posted by the Section for playoff were moved back one week. A schedule was approved which would move the existing schedules back 3 to 4 days. Such schedule will allow time for tiebreakers and rain make ups. The schedules were tentatively approved pending input from the baseball and softball coaches.

It was necessary to change a Cross Country Center meet from Oct 13th to Oct 12th. because the course was not available on the original date.

Modifications to the Boys golf, modify to accomodate two schoolsusing Mather as their home course were approved.

The commissioner reminded the Board that Individual game changes in which both schools agree are permissible under CVC past paractice and policy. The league becomes involved when two schools do not agree.

The Academic Award Committee composed of Jorie Baer, Jill Bennett and Dean Perkins submitted a proposal to award a patch for students meeting the prescribed academic standards. This award will become effective this fall.

Each school will monitor their own athletes and make the awards presentation. The league will purchase the patches and invoice each school.

Jorie Baer was authorized to contact her vendor and order the patches.

It was agreed that administrative supervision at home football games was implied in the principal's responsibilities and need not be part of the CVC by-laws.

Brian Bautista, Rio Linda Girls Golf Coach, spoke to sections in the golf by-laws which were not enforceable, not being followed and/or needed to be modified. Brian will submit a first reading document through his athletic director for consideration at the January meeting.

A discussion about changing the Track trials & finals to two days resulted in no action because of no motion. Dave Unterholzner expalined how the meet was to be run and the board was satisfied it was under control.

The board also approved a change from the dual meet schedule to a center meet schedule. This was a tentative approved based upon hearing input from all the track coaches.
