Minutes of the August 22 Athletic Board Meeting were approved as posted on the web site.

OLD BUSINESS

A short report on the reansistion process with the new league members.

Foothill reported that Dixon & Rio Linda have not paid for league BBQ. Rio Linda has submitted a check.

Some revisions were made to the Wrestling Schedule. Some dates needed adjusting due to conflicts with basketball games.

 

NEW BUSINESS

Track

Antelope was selected as the host school for league meet

A motion for elimination of honest effort rule died for lack of a second.

 

SECTION & STATE ITEMS

The Athletic Board gave instructions to the league representative as how to vote on the following items:

Approve Central Valley Christian Academy and Smith Flat Charter Academy to Section - vote yes

Old Business

Basketball power rating report - vote yes

Playoff proposal for 2010-14 - vote yes

Sugar Bowl Academy request for membership (skiing & snowboarding only) - abstain

Revise by-law 208.4 - 208.7 - vote no

In essence would allow the SJS Executive Board to levy fines instead of forfeitures for schools for violation of eligibility rules.

Revise by-law 206.4 - vote no

Impose a fine for failure to submit CIF Form 206 prior to a student competing.

OTHER ITEMS

Jon West, River City High School and Kathryn Graff, Rio Linda High School were selected as nominations from the CVC as Model Coaches.

All Conference Materials for the following sports were distributed:

Center - Girls Golf and Volleyball

West Campus - Boys Soccer

Rio Linda - Football and Water Polo

Rio Linda submitted a letter which self reported their use of an ineligible player for four games.

The 2010 Boys Golf Schedule was adopted.
